TODAY"S SERMON....IS THERE NO BALM IN GILEAD? JEREMIAH 8:22

Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is there no healing for the wound of my people? Jer 8:22

Many times THE SUPPOSED CHILDREN OF GOD DO NOT GET ANSWERS TO THEIR PRAYERS. I s it because God does not answer prayers? Or is it because of our dispositions.
What to do to live a fulfilled life is in the word of God.

THINGS WE NEED TO EXPERIENCE THE BALM IN GILEAD.
1  .Desire the baptism of the holy spirit.

"And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you".  Roman 8:11.
Matthew 3:11
11 “I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
2: Declare the mind of God for your life

Psalm 2:7-12 King James Version (KJV)

I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
11 Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
3: Declare the name of Jesus.

how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him. Act 10:38

Acts 9:34 "Aeneas," Peter said to him, "Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and roll up your mat." Immediately Aeneas got up.

Philippians 2:9 New International Version (NIV)

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,

To experience change, one need to key into the power that has an irrevocable gift of God. It has healing power. It possesses the ability to save, to provide and to sustain.
One foolish person will say, 'I don't want that name'. I want juju. I want the fetish gods that my father kept for me and for that, such a person remains under the yoke of the world. The name of JESUS caries an irrevocable gift that heals whosoever. I decree that the name of Jesus answers to every affliction pervading you and your life in Jesus name, Amen! The name of JESUS is like an ointment. When you invoke the name of JESUS, Just go and rest for your case is settled.

Whosoever that is planning evil for you will fall under the powers in the name of JESUS. JESUS is the balm of Gilead. We cry over situations of life and in our frantic effort to solve these problem using our human strategy, we find ourslf in more problems that we were(That will not be your potion because you are now empowered) You don't need to yoke yourself with observing the ritualistic operations prescribed by a herbalist, You only need the name of Jesus.
4. The name of Jesus heals the sick:

James 5:15 New International Version (NIV)

15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Build your faith to access the full delivery of the benefits that abound in Jesus Christ.

Why did Jeremiah come about the question?

The Prophet Jeremiah was evidently worried about the poor spiritual state of the people of Israel. He was weeping over the spiritual condition of Israel and especially the godless state of Judah. At that time, religious authority was being degraded, there was also lack of interest in their spiritual condition by the church leaders and the church was wrapped up in material and political gain instead of the people. So, Jeremiah began to ask rhetorical questions. In Jeremiah 8:5-6, he asked, “Why have this people slidden back? Why is Jerusalem in continual apostasy? No man repented of his wickedness saying, “What have I done!” Again he asked in Jeremiah 8:22, “Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is there no healing for the wound of my people?” He saw people wounded and broken who needed healing.
After the captivity, Israel took the Promised Land, and Gilead, on the west side of the Jordan, became part of their land. The tribe of Gad settled there. The balm trade then became as Israeli one. (Ezk. 27:17) The reason for all this was that one of the trees there secreted turpentine like resin that was highly sought after because it was highly medicinal. It was used in the treatment of virtually all of human diseases. It is said that this balm was worth twice its weight in silver.
So, Jeremiah’s question is, “How can a people who traded in balm be so sick?” “How can the people of God, with the Law in their midst, be so sinful?!” What was the solution for the Israel? It was by simply using the balm that they already had.

THERE IS BALM IN GILEAD. JESUS IS THE BALM OF GILEAD. BRING HIM INTO YOUR LIFE AND SEE THAT THE DIFFERENCE IS CLEAR. If you love our article or want to be part of our Bible TV show please write us @ whoknowsthebible@gmail.com. God bless you richly!
